The Vomero 18 puts a layer of bouncy ZoomX on top of firmer, more durable ReactX, then stacks the lot very high. You get a soft, springy top layer with enough support underneath to keep it from feeling sloppy. The 10mm drop makes it feel familiar if you come from a traditional trainer.
It's a big daily trainer as much as a recovery shoe. It handles easy runs, long runs and steady miles well. It undercuts most of this shelf on price, has more spring than the Nimbus 27, and isn't as light as the 1080 v14.
The upper is padded and comfortable, with a fairly snug midfoot. Runners with wide feet should look at the wide version.
“The best-value big cushion shoe Nike has made in years.”

Big, soft and surprisingly nimble for a shoe this tall.
