The Cloudsurfer 2 uses Helion superfoam shaped with CloudTec Phase, a row of cut-outs that compress in sequence on landing, then roll you forward. The ride is smoother and softer than most On shoes, without the firm, clacky feel the brand was once known for.
It suits runners who want a soft, comfortable shoe for easy runs and recovery runs. Heel strikers in particular will notice the cushioning doing its work, and the moderate drop keeps it approachable.
It is softer than other On trainers but less cushioned than the Clifton 10 or Novablast 5. It is also among the pricier daily trainers on the shelf. Fit is snug and secure, true to size for most.
“The On for people who found the other Ons too firm.”
