The FuelCell Rebel v5 is a light, springy trainer with no plate. The PEBA-blend FuelCell foam has plenty of bounce, and this version adds a little more stack and a redesigned rubber outsole.
It suits runners who want a fun daily shoe that can handle strides, tempos and the odd fartlek. The low 6mm drop and light weight favour midfoot strikers and runners with efficient form.
It is lighter and livelier than the Pegasus 41 or Ghost 17, and less cushioned than the Novablast 5 for very long runs. Against the Adizero Evo SL it is a cheaper, slightly lower option. Fit is comfortable, with a roomy toe box.
“A fun daily shoe that is also happy doing your strides.”
