The Forerunner 570 takes the 970's training brain and drops the maps, the flashlight and the titanium. What's left is a light, AMOLED-screened road runner's watch with all the metrics that matter.
It's for runners who train on known routes and want Garmin's coaching without paying for navigation. Against the 970 you save a decent chunk; against the Forerunner 165 you get better sensors, multi-band GPS and the full readiness suite.
GPS is multi-band and dependable, and battery lasts around a week and a half of normal use. Breadcrumb navigation will follow a loaded course, but it won't help you find a new one.
“The smart Garmin buy if you run roads and know your routes.”
