The Pace Pro is Coros moving upmarket without moving its prices much. You get an AMOLED screen, proper offline maps and the long battery Coros is known for, for less than half of a Forerunner 970.
It's for runners who want maps and a modern screen but don't need every smart feature going. Against the 970 you give up some polish and the deeper recovery metrics; against the Pace 3 you gain the screen, the maps and a few grams.
Dual-band GPS tracking is solid, and battery stretches to around three weeks of normal use. The Coros app is simple and quick, and the training plans and workout builder are better than the price suggests.
“Most of the flagship for a lot less of the money.”
