The Ghost 17 uses Brooks's DNA Loft foam for a soft, smooth ride that never feels mushy. It is the definition of predictable: a gentle roll from heel to toe, a 10mm drop and an outsole built to last.
It suits runners who heel strike and want a neutral trainer for easy runs, recovery runs and steady mileage. It is particularly good for new runners and high-mileage runners who care more about comfort than speed.
It is less bouncy than the Novablast 5 and less soft than the Clifton 10, but it is among the most durable shoes on the shelf. Fit is comfortable and accommodating, with plenty of width choices.
“The shoe running-store staff recommend when they don't know you yet.”
