The verdict

The Weather Jacket is On's lightweight running shell: windproof, water-repellent and designed to pack into its own pocket. It is the jacket for changeable days, not monsoons, and that is exactly how it should be used.

The fabric mixes a stretchy polyamide and elastane upper with a plain polyamide lower section and a light lining. A water-repellent finish beads off showers, and the stretch in the upper keeps the arms from feeling stiff when you swing them.

It isn't fully waterproof, so prolonged rain will soak through eventually. For blustery morning runs and stuffing in a vest pocket as insurance, it is a tidy, good-looking option.
