The Vertix 2S is Coros's mountain watch: titanium, sapphire and a battery measured in weeks of GPS, not hours. It's a big, tough block of a watch built for days on the trail.
It's for trail ultra runners and mountaineers who want serious battery without paying Garmin prices. Against the Enduro 3 it costs less and the battery is in the same league, but it's heavier and the metrics are simpler.
Dual-band GPS is accurate, offline topo maps are clear, and the battery runs for over a month of normal use. It's a lot of watch for road running, but out in the hills that's the point.
“Trail ultra territory, at a price that undercuts the big names.”
